Local Legend Arranges Fund Raiser.

Local legend and former professional footballer Dean Hooper has arranged a fund raising football match for Jess, the little girl who Harefield have taken to their hearts.

‘Super Hooper’ who played for Swindon Town and Peterborough for many seasons  is putting together a team of past it footballers, to be known as Jess’s Eleven, to play a side of ex-pros led by Martin Rowlands, former QPR captain.

The match will take place at Preston Park, home of Harefield United FC on Saturday 28th May, Bank Holiday Weekend, at 3.00 pm to be followed by an auction of football memorabilia.

Many other events have been organised in the village to raise money for Jess to receive the treatment she needs, including a Disney Day on the 21st May which involves a fancy dress walk around the village with chief fundraisers Tiny Tess and Kerry-Anne, a Charity Bake-Off, a Quiz Night at the Harefield pub and another football afternoon and barbecue at the Football Club on 14th May with  two youth and adult games.

Check the Facebook page Harefield In Your Heart for details of all these events.

Big thanks to all involved, and once again local people have shown what a great little village Harefield really is.
