Several villagers have reported seeing a unicorn in Bluebell Woods, which can only be accessed at certain times of the year. The magical woods, which lie in a secret location somewhere between Harefield Hospital and Narnia, are only visible during mid to late April when the famous Harefield bluebells are in bloom.
Members of the 1st Harefield Venture Scouts were orienteering in the woods for their Dogging Badges as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme Award when a small group of them came across a clearing where a white horse-like creature was grazing. Using all their stealthy skills, a small bunch of scouts crept up behind the animal trying not to startle it when they noticed it had just the one horn in the middle of its head.
Patrol Leader Johnny Fetherlite tried to take a picture on his iPhone but the beast took fright and galloped away. Johnny told the Scandal “We tried tracking it but after a while the hoof prints just disappeared in the middle of a fairy ring”.
Other villagers also claim to have seen the mythical beast. Arthur Moloch, a goblin from Mount Pleasant, even boasted that he had ridden the beast. “I was strolling through the woods with my girlfriend Princess Clamydia when we saw this great big unicorn. She dared me to catch it so I went one better and jumped on its back”.
The Princess went on “He rode up to me, lifted me up on the unicorn and we rode off into Dingley Dell. It were dead romantic like”.
The enchanted woods are said to be the natural habitat of several mythical beasts including unicorns, dragons, a wolf that kidnaps grandmothers, a troll under the wooden footbridge and the Lost Tribe of the Harefield Wednesday Football Team.
We sent our reporter to investigate but she encountered a fairy called Wendigo Jones who told her ” Unicorns? There’s no such animal mate. You must’ve been at the magic mushrooms. There’s nothing to see here now piss off!”
Members of the Harefield Constabulary have warned villagers to exercise extreme caution when entering the woods to pick bluebells, and to stay away from the gingerbread house by the toadstool circle. PC Brigade told the Scandal “If you go down to the woods today be sure of a big surprise”.
